My name is Paula, and I’m the founder and fly tier behind MinkaFly.I live and fish in Ireland, near the lakes of County Galway a place where weather changes faster than plans and every day on the water teaches humility. Fly fishing is not just what I do it’s how I live.

I started tying flies out of necessity I wanted patterns that worked in real conditions, not just ones that looked good in photos. Over time, those flies found their way into the boxes of anglers across Ireland, the UK, France, the United States and Scandinavia.

MinkaFly officially launched in 2020, with years of testing, failing, adjusting and learning. My focus has always been on predator flies, especially for pike, and on creating premium patterns that hold up to aggressive takes and demanding waters.

While I am the face of MinkaFly, this brand has always been a partnership. My husband has been behind the scenes from the very beginning building the website, running the technical side of the business and making sure everything works smoothly, while I focus on design, tying and fishing.

MinkaFly is not a factory.

It’s not mass production.

It’s experience, water time and honest feedback turned into flies.

The blog you’ll find here is an extension of that philosophy. It’s not about pushing products it’s about sharing real fishing life: conditions, locations, recommendations, guides, mistakes and small victories that happen far away from perfect photos.
